can supply new Cameras or modify
customer’s existing Westrex Type 1231 mono cameras for Stereo Variable
Area recordings and fit Dolby SR-D and DTS recording attachments.
- The Westrex 1231 Optical Recording Camera is designed to record variable area soundtracks on 35mm film. It is equipped with a modulator which accommodates a RA1563N stereo light valve. The light valve will lays down a stereo variable area soundtrack. The camera can also be fitted with Dolby SRD and DTS modules around in the film path area to record digital their formats alongside the analogue SVA track.
Various drive systems are available, these include:-
1) Single phase/ three phase synchronous motors. 24 / 25 fps - 50 / 60Hz Line frequency.
2) Video Locked:

PAL 24 / 25 fps

N.T.S.C 23.97 / 24.975 fps
This unit can be locked to external sync or to its internal Sync Pulse Generator which can output sync to the master playback machine.
3) D.C Servo motor.
This system is necessary when a Sony SDDS Recorder is to be attached.
